The meaning of Easter - What does it mean to you?
April 4th, 2010
The meaning of Easter is Jesus Christ’s victory over death. His resurrection symbolizes the eternal life that is granted to all who believe in Him.
The meaning of Easter also symbolizes the complete verification of all that Jesus preached and taught during His three-year ministry. If He had not risen from the dead, if He had merely died and not been resurrected, He would have been considered just another teacher or Rabbi. However, His resurrection changed all that and gave final and irrefutable proof that He was really the Son of God and that He had conquered death once and for all.
However, Easter did not always symbolize Christ’s resurrection from the dead and the meaning of Easter was quite different than what Christians celebrate today. The feast day of Easter was originally a pagan celebration of renewal and rebirth. Celebrated in the early spring, it honored the pagan Saxon goddess Eastre. When the early missionaries converted the Saxons to Christianity, the holiday, since it fell around the same time as the traditional memorial of Christ’s resurrection from the dead, was merged with the pagan celebration, and became know as Easter. The meaning of Easter was also changed to reflect its new Christian orientation.
Today, the meaning of Easter, for million of Christians, is that of honoring and recognizing Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead, and His glorious promises of eternal life for all who believe in Him.
American Grand Jury wishes every person who truly celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ a memorable and joyous Easter.

During my stay in the Orient I was able to have some Chinese Embroidery custom made for American Grand Jury. We call it the “Patriot Series.” These are the only ones of their kind to my knowledge. This is just one example of our artwork. These are completely handmade. Each art embroidery takes a lady anywhere from 4 to 5 weeks to complete.
We hope you enjoy this one with Jesus overlooking the American Flag. We will take a number of these works of art with us on the American Grand Jury 20-State Tour to show those who are interested. Between now and our start date of May 9th I will display other embroidery scenes for you to enjoy in different postings on our website. Be on the lookout for them!

Amen! Thank you, Mr. Campbell.
The good news is how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures (1 Cor. 15:3-4).
…God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time (1 Tim 2:4-6).
And therefore it (Abraham’s faith) was imputed to him (Abraham) for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was RAISED AGAIN FOR OUR JUSTIFICATION. Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Rom. 4:23-5:1)
We are justified by Christ’s work of faith and his work on the cross for us. He saved me, a wretched sinner, and I am so grateful for His grace and mercy; It is all to His glory and praise! I’m looking for my blessed hope, now, to be caught up with my Saviour and Lord in the clouds, to meet him in the air, and so shall we (the Body of Christ) ever be with the Lord! Hallelujah!!

12 - Paula - What a beautiful testimony! I love the Bible verses you chose - They are the gospel in a nutshell, so to speak. At the age of eight I received the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ and know whereof you speak. God bless you and all here!

Happy Easter to all–Our Lord has risen today. May he deliver us from the evil in this government.
I awoke this Easter morning with a new feeling, the sky is clear blue, the temp is 75, the birds of spring are out in full force chirping and fluttering in the sky, and we have a new day!
Pray that we win good over evil and the Lord blesses America as he always has

Bob, your embroidered flag reminds everyone that our country was founded on Christian principles and values. DO YOU HEAR THIS BO? I see that Bob’s flag shows that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ blesses our country and HE will rid it of the evil which infests it…through our prayers.
