A mosque rises over Ground Zero. And fed-up New Yorkers are crying, “No!”

A chorus of critics — from neighbors to those who lost loved ones on 9/11 to me — feel as if they’ve received a swift kick in the teeth.
Plans are under way for a Muslim house of worship, topped by a 13-story cultural center with a swimming pool, in a building damaged by the fuselage of a jet flown by extremists into the World Trade Center.
The opening date shall live in infamy: Sept. 11, 2011. The 10th anniversary of the day a hole was punched in the city’s heart.
How in the devil did this happen?
Plans to bring what one critic calls a “monster mosque” to the site of the old Burlington Coat Factory building, at a cost expected to top $100 million, moved along for months without a peep. All of a sudden, even members of the community board that stupidly green-lighted the mosque this month are tearing their hair out.
Paul Sipos, member of Community Board 1, said a mosque is a fine idea — someplace else.
“If the Japanese decided to open a cultural center across from Pearl Harbor, that would be insensitive,” Sipos told me. “If the Germans opened a Bach choral society across from Auschwitz, even after all these years, that would be an insensitive setting. I have absolutely nothing against Islam. I just think: Why there?”
Why, indeed.
A rally against the mosque is planned for June 6, D-Day, by the human-rights group Stop Islamicization of America.
Executive director Pamela Geller said,
What could be more insulting and humiliating than a monster mosque in the shadow of the World Trade Center buildings that were brought down by an Islamic jihad attack? Any decent American, Muslim or otherwise, wouldn’t dream of such an insult. It’s a stab in the eye of America.

With an opening date of Sept. 11, it is plain to see that they are just rubbing our noses in it. What kind of president would allow this to happen?
During my lifetime, I have watched as America buried seven US Presidents. I hope to live to see us bury one more…. one in particular.

The point you make is exactly why I cant understand why the American People have not stopped this. The Bill of Rights clearly states that it is OUR RESPONSIBLITY that if this Government becomes worthless and no longer serves WE THE PEOPLE TO ABOLISH such Government and re establish one that represents us. This is not even any longer a Government.It is a Criminal Corporation that is dedicated to stealing our tax dollars to fund a Communist controlled Cabal to enslave us.To even consider allowing the Islamist Extremist Religion to build a monument to murder next to this site is Treasonous and a slap in the face of the Families who lost loved ones there. Yet the American People eagerly await the next American IDOL.Whats up with that? I can guarantee you all that there are a huge number of us ready to fight but its going to take a lot more to do the job.Whats it going to take? i heard just today that the building that was supposed to house this mosque is on the federal land mark registry so therefore the plans for a mosque have been stopped in thier tracks. has anyone else heard this? we need to research it

Patriots Its going to be interesting to see what Congress will do with the verdict of Trial.I feel they will do nothing and ignore it.Congress has been bought off, they are sitting on a gold-mine.You have about half the population blind and in love with obama.The other half I would break down like this 1/3- Patriots 1/3-Senior Citizens Bless their Heart 1/3- don’t care and will not agree on nothing.It looks like we are going to have obama for 8yrs or longer when the amnesty bill is passed.The buying of votes with our tax-dollars will see that he gets what he wants.So my Patriot friends what a battle we have before us.Politcians AND obama knows this and if the Patriots get to loud they will cut the internet.Its already in the making.Don’t expect any help from the big talk show hosts,they are laughing all the way to the Bank.

I must agree with AMP, they will do nothing, the MSM didn’t carry and only on the Internet where I have been searching for a week did I find. As he is working with Soros, Kissinger, and I heard Kissinger was or possibly might have been arrested, but the puppet will be our figurehead for our new nation. Did you notice how arrogant he looked, looking over all the citizens who were giving him an honor and does it hurt all of us who hate him, don’t like him when we see the honor he is taking away from a real president. I feel as the posts ahead of me, some type of action, but they are powerful, what about the man and his 16 year old son who were killed in Arkansas, I read that is why Blair resigned, Obama ordered the killing of these two because they were working with foreclosures and the arrogant illegal Muslim said take them out and Blair refused and left the White House. Half of the population-you know the entitlees are the ones in love with him…OMG I saw someone today that I hadn’t seen in at least 5 yrs and the first thing out of her mouth was how great barry was — I said to her, who? She said, you know your president- (that was the icing on the cake)I said - he is not my president he is not even an American Natural born citizen and with that she perceded to degrade GWB on how he destroyed this and that…so I just said Bush had nothing to do with the financial system and the mortgage industry–the congress wrote the mortgage guidelines for all financial institutions to sign prior to bushs election. Needless to say she continued and I just said, I am not arguing - you better educate yourself and with that she proceeded to tell me how wonderful barry was to her with unemployment—OMG that was it for me. I just left.
So if 1 person thinks how wonderful he is because he extended unemployment–we are in for a rough ride with these entitlees.
I did read about the mosques being built at ground zero and their celebration of it on 911–where the heck is our protection against these radicals who want to overthrown whats left of our country? Barry is a radical muslim, along with being a marxist, commie. If we don’t get him out soon we will never have america again. Our founding fathers are rolling in the graves!

Mosques…’If you build it, they will come’, and come, and come, and come. Mosque building is the mechanism that spreads Islam…So what is a Mosque…In actuality mosques have many uses…They have been used for legitimate uses, praying etc, and dubious uses, like training terrorists, storing guns and ammo, hiding fugitives, launching attacks…
Symbolically mosques are a symbol of Islamic supremacy and power…The minaret is a phallic symbol erected over the helpless and fallen victims, symbolizing ‘Boy have we screwed you’…The proposed Mosque at ground zero at 13 stories is a phallic symbol…a mosque and minaret in one…it has the same message ‘Boy have we screwed you’ Allah willing and he always is…There is going to be a protest in June organized by Pamela Geller of SIOA, and atlas shrugs…If you live in NY and don’t like the idea of a huge Islamic ‘penis of victory’ over your head at ground zero…Go join her…

I don’t live in New York, but the idea of a Mosque repels me a lot, it should make the illegal Muslim dictator happy so he can go take his shoes off and pray to the dead god, Allah, to take all Americans and lets kill them. At least our God, Jesus Christ is alive and active and well. Anybody who likes the idea of a mosque is in my humble opinion, a little strange to be living in America. I read someplace that some states have lots of mosques, how and why, why are we letting in so many Muslims, they do not assimulate(sp) into the nation as well as other nationalities. That is why England having so much trouble, their people have 3 million Muslims, and they go around all veiled and burkaed with the veils etc. Who knows who they are and what they are doing, maybe that is why Obama is so mysterious, who is he, what is he doing no press conferences for 46 days, is Bush had tried that he would have been really battered and bruised by the media, I hope this main stream media is happy now, they have a illegal Muslim in the white house that is trashing the constitution and everything I grew up with.
