When hundreds of tea-party protesters – including many elderly women – gathered outside a civic center where President Obama was giving a public speech Wednesday, they were surprised to be greeted by police dispatched in full riot gear.

Obama spoke in Quincy, Ill., at the Oakley Lindsay Civic Center. The event was open to the public, and about 2,000 tickets were distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

About 200 protesters peacefully rallied outside the civic center, carrying signs that read “Give Us Liberty Not Debt” and yellow “Don’t Tread On Me” flags, the Quincy Herald-Whig reported. Protesters waved U.S. flags and shouted “Remember in November” and “You work for us.”

‘Look at these extremist maniacs!’

After Obama’s motorcade arrived, a Secret Service agent instructed protesters to move across the street. The crowd began singing “God Bless, America” and the National Anthem. Quincy Deputy Police Chief Ron Dreyer ordered police in full riot gear to march up the street and stand between the tea partiers and the civic center.

Snipers were also spotted on the rooftop of the building.

The tea partiers complied when they were told to move across the street, behind a sidewalk and into a parking lot. The riot police did not come into contact with the crowd, and the tea partiers sang patriotic songs while obeying the orders.

“Thanks for protecting our president,” one tea partier can be heard saying on a video of the event. “He’s the anointed One, the Messiah.”

Another man said, “Illegals are rioting, and we’re as peaceful as you can believe.”

NBC affiliate WGEM described the crowd as “rowdy,” though they could be heard singing “God Bless America” in the background during the report.

Inside, Obama told the crowd, “[W]hen I travel now, it kind of causes a ruckus.”

The photos and videos sparked a wave of blogger reactions, including the following comments:

I hope the riot police have full auto assault weapons with armor-piercing rounds. I hear false teeth can deflect normal NATO rounds.

Those poor police have to be embarrassed.

These guys and gals look like my mom or the people in my church. Wake up America!

Why can’t these racist, violent tea parties be civil like the peaceful pro-illegal immigration rallies we saw in Phoenix!?

The cops really have to worry since protesters are shown on tape throwing bottles at them. Oh wait, SWAT was there because it looked like the ladies were going to break out in a bingo game. Those daubers have ink, ya know.

Oh my G-d. How beyond ridiculous. This country’s “leaders” have gone stark raving insane.
Yeah, they look like real hoodlums. Next they’ll be going after the elementary school kids singing those crazy patriotic songs!

What is America’s most prominent Muslim advocacy group hiding?

The Council on American-Islamic Relations is delinquent in filing its tax returns by nearly two years, the IRS has confirmed, raising new suspicions the embattled nonprofit group is concealing from the American public details about its already shadowy financial activities.

Washington-based CAIR, which receives revenue from Saudi Arabia and other Arab states, is required by federal law to file its tax returns annually with the IRS to maintain its tax-exempt status.

However, it still has not filed its 2007 returns, according to the IRS. Its 2008 tax filing is also late.

Registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, CAIR must make its finances public each year by filing IRS Form 990.

Under a new federal law, effective starting for tax years ending on or after Dec. 31, 2007, if an organization fails to file either Form 990-N, Form 990, or Form 990 EZ for three consecutive years, its tax-exempt status will automatically be revoked.

To waive separate IRS penalties, CAIR’s national office must prove that “reasonable cause” and not “willful neglect” was behind its lengthy delay in filing its tax records.

Most of CAIR’s 30 chapters have filed their 2007 returns, and many have filed their 2008 tax forms. It’s not clear why CAIR National has repeatedly failed to meet the original filing deadline and subsequent three-month extensions.

Both CAIR and its outside auditor, Joey Musmar, declined comment.

Were those Muslims that were in America when the Pilgrims first landed? Funny, I thought they were Native American Indians.

Were those Muslims that celebrated the first Thanksgiving day? Sorry again, those were Pilgrims and Native American Indians.

Can you show me one Muslim signature on the United States Constitution?

Declaration of Independence ?

Bill of Rights?

Didn’t think so.

Did Muslims fight for this country’s freedom from England? No.

Did Muslims fight during the Civil War to free the slaves in America? No, they did not. In fact, Muslims to this day are still the largest traffickers in human slavery. Your own half brother, a devout Muslim, still advocates slavery himself, even though Muslims of Arabic descent refer to black Muslims as “pug nosed slaves.” Says a lot of what the Muslim world really thinks of your family’s “rich Islamic heritage,” doesn’t it Mr. Obama?

Where were Muslims during the Civil Rights era of this country? Not present.

There are no pictures or media accounts of Muslims walking side by side with Martin Luther King, Jr. or helping to advance the cause of Civil Rights.

Where were Muslims during this country’s Woman’s Suffrage era? Again, not present. In fact, devout Muslims demand that women are subservient to men in the Islamic culture. So much so, that often they are beaten for not wearing the ‘hajib’ or for talking to a man who is not a direct family member or their husband. Yep, the Muslims are all for women’s rights, aren’t they?

Where were Muslims during World War II? They were aligned with Adolf Hitler. The Muslim grand mufti himself met with Adolf Hitler, reviewed the troops and accepted support from the Nazi’s in killing Jews.

Finally, Mr. Obama, where were Muslims on Sept. 11th, 2001? If they weren’t flying planes into the World Trade Center , the Pentagon or a field in Pennsylvania killing nearly 3,000 people on our own soil, they were rejoicing in the Middle East . No one can dispute the pictures shown from all parts of the Muslim world celebrating on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and other cable news networks that day. Strangely, the very “moderate” Muslims whose asses you bent over backwards to kiss in Cairo , Egypt on June 4th were stone cold silent post 9-11. To many Americans, their silence has meant approval for the acts of that day.

And THAT, Mr. Obama, is the “rich heritage” Muslims have here in America.

Oh, I’m sorry, I forgot to mention the Barbary Pirates. They were Muslim.

And now we can add November 5, 2009 - the slaughter of American soldiers at Fort Hood by a Muslim major who is a doctor and a psychiatrist who was supposed to be counseling soldiers returning from battle in Iraq and Afghanistan .

Add the recent “underwear” bomber to the list, also.

That, Mr. Obama is the “Muslim heritage” in America.

Let me express what so many Americans are thinking about national security. “Get off your butts and protect America and to hell with political correctness!”

The time for coddling our enemies is over. The time of bowing and groveling and acquiescing to foreign leaders must end. The apologies made for America need to be retracted. We need strength and resolve not caution and complacency.

How far should we go? Well, how many Nidal Hassans ( Ft. Hood terrorist and murderer) are there in our own military that need to be sent packing out of this country. When within our own military is infiltrated with enemy sympathizers who have no intent of protecting and defending our constitution then it’s time for a real housecleaning. How many more trained underwear bombers will slip through airport security? How many al Qaeda operatives have walked into our country through porous borders? Do we need a Terrorist Connect the Dots book for training purposes?

How about a simple No-Fly list: No Muslims

When our national security is so lax that airline safety becomes and oxymoron and the red flags raised are ignored by those who should be protecting us, then it’s time for a major quarantine to keep out anyone with even the hint of a tie to radical Islam. Don’t allow any more Muslim passengers from Yemen or any Arab nation harboring the enemy. That includes Americans who have left to join those who have sworn to destroy our nation. How about a simple No-Fly list: No Muslims. I for one do not believe there are any “moderate” Muslims in America. Those here are working to elect their own kind and to change our Judeo Christian based laws to reflect their own Sharia laws. At one time we rightly sought out communist sympathizers bent on espionage and terrorism—now many of them are governing us.

Wake Up! We have a president who is more concerned with selling America into economic bondage resulting in Socialism than he is in fighting the War on Terror. He’s too busy waging war on the Constitution to seriously be about the business of lifting America up. And his cohorts in the congress are a total disgrace. Greed, corruption, avarice, and self-serving politicians who meet behind closed doors and think they know what is best for us regardless of what the overwhelming majority wants—they are doing great harm from the inside out. It is not a time to simply complain about the gangrenous appendage but a time to amputate.

We can pray that God helps us through this bout with the cancer of terrorism and the festering disease of corruption in Washington. Yes pray, but get off your butt and let your voice be heard by throwing out the bold faced liars like Pelosi and Reid and yes—the Liar in Chief in charge of Hope and Change. We are getting the Change promised us during the campaign of 2008—we better Hope we can stop it!

RUSH is back is action. He reported this yesterday about the upcoming “terrorist” trial in New York City:

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg on Wednesday said the costs of hosting the federal trials of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and other suspected September 11 plotters would top $200 million annually and formally requested that Washington cover the costs. ‘New York’s financial resources are in short supply, and we have been forced to reduce our Police Department’s headcount,’ Bloomberg wrote in a letter to White House Budget Director Peter Orszag dated January 5 and released to media on Wednesday. ‘Securing the trial will require us to pull existing personnel from crime prevention efforts around the city and require significant overtime expenses,’ the mayor wrote. Bloomberg estimated the cost for security would be $216 million for the first year and $206 million annually thereafter.

Now, what an absurd proposition. Two hundred million a year, which clearly indicates that this trial of the century is a pure show trial that’s going to go on for years by design, brought to you by Obama and Eric Holder. And this is show trial essentially for one guy, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who doesn’t even deserve a trial. He asked to be executed, ladies and gentlemen. But now he’s all excited. He’s thrilled. Two hundred million a year to secure him during his trial in New York.
