Broad business coalition opposing health care bill

WASHINGTON (AP) - Major business groups say President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul is a job killer, and they’re launching a multimillion-dollar ad campaign to take that message to voters.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Manufacturers, and groups ranging from contractors to retailers said Tuesday the Democratic health care bills would raise their expenses, while failing to control health care costs.
Advertisements will start airing nationwide Wednesday on cable television and shift in a few days to 17 states, targeting moderate and conservative Democrats whose votes are critical to passing the bill in the House. The campaign is estimated to cost between $4 million and $10 million, with the insurance industry paying part of the cost.

How tragic this article is. We Americans are sitting here watching our money fly by without a word of input.
This is exactly why we need to change our government and fast. There is precious little concern about our health in this mix. It’s all about the money.

I am so damn sick of this healthcare crap, nobody seems to read bills, who would vote for something they hadn’t read, are the Congresspeople complete idiots. I was taught in school, never sign anything, document, without reading it first, I not a lawyer, I am old lady, high school education and I have bought a couple of homes in the last 60 years, I always read all, Title people gave me a APR application on this latest house purchase and I said I will not go this way, only FIXED,and they said it was the law that they had to give people choices. Crap, anybody with 1/2 of a brain reads, if they don’t, not a bright person. God Bless America

Goldie and Moonbeam, I totally agree with you both! The Fools On The Hill have never even TRIED to read whatever the heck this mishmash is (according to Pelosi it’s not even a bill yet; “We need to pass it so we can find out what it is”) Not that I completely trust the Insurance Companies either, but at least they are AMERICAN BUSINESSES, unlike PrezBo who is NOT American and only intends to “give US the business”!

If the insurance companies go down, what about all the people who work for them, clerical, analysts, claims people, all these will be out of work, maybe the disease in the White House will help them, NO< they work, so they must suffer, we only help the old who can’t work, we take their Medicare away and the death panels will take care of them, the young healthy, who flatly refuse to work, they should be sent to fight fire or something invigorating, so may blacks in jail, why can’t they be put on fires from the jail.
