In response to a Nigerian Muslim trying to blow up a flight from Amsterdam to Detroit on Christmas Day, the government will now prohibit international travelers from going to the bathroom in the last hour before the plane lands.

Terrorists who plan to bomb planes during the first seven hours of the eight-hour flight, however, should face no difficulties, provided they wait until after the complimentary beverage service has been concluded.

How do they know Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab didn’t wait until the end of the flight to try to detonate explosives because he heard the stewardess announce that the food service was over and seats would have to be placed in their upright position? I can’t finish my snack? This plane is going down!

Also prohibited in the last hour of international flights will be: blankets, pillows, computers and in-flight entertainment. Another triumph in Janet Napolitano’s “Let’s stay one step behind the terrorists” policy!

For the past eight years, approximately 2 million Americans a day have been subjected to humiliating searches at airport security checkpoints, forced to remove their shoes and jackets, to open their computers, and to remove all liquids from their carry-on bags, except minuscule amounts in marked 3-ounce containers placed in Ziploc plastic bags – folding sandwich bags are verboten – among other indignities.

So how did our loonie Administration handle the situation? Janet says, “the system work” then later retracted the statement when she realized how stupid she sounded.

Our illustrious Usurper took a short time out from his golf game [a mere 3 days after the incident happened] to tell the world “and now my fellow Muslims.. don’t worry as I will make sure we apologize to the world so as to not offend or violate our Muslims’ rights here in the United Arab States.” Let me back up.. that sounded offensive.. I think Obummer asked his aide “if a 4 or 5 iron would work best” while delivering his speech to the MSM as he sought to beat [lie] the story to death”?

The year 2009 has not been a stellar one for Barack Obama. It ends on a particularly sour note [on Christmas day no less] with the attempted bombing of Northwest Airlines Flight 253 by a Nigerian jihadist. A jihadist, whom we recently learned, may not have been alone on that flight. [emphasis, mine]

…The buck stops in the Oval Office. Why did he [Obama] leave her twisting in the wind for so long? HDTV viewers likely could see the sweat oozing out of her pores as she dodged and weaved reporters’ questions.

Meanwhile, the would-be bomber warns that there are “more like me” coming to America. But I shouldn’t be so cynical. Maybe they’ve heard about the desire by some in Washington to grant amnesty to illegal aliens and are just trying to cash in on the American dream.

A jihadist with explosives tucked into his tighty whities makes it through airline security and is only stopped from blowing up a plane over Detroit by his own bumbling and the passengers who tackled him, and it takes Obama three days to speak to the American public? As Jerry Seinfeld might say, “What’s up with that?” We know he isn’t camera shy: before he even took office, he set a record for press conferences as president-elect, and he had quite a few in 2009. He was certainly quick to denounce a white Cambridge police officer for arresting a black Harvard professor when he “didn’t have all the facts.”

When he did finally make a public statement, it was pretty much boilerplate: ordering a review of security procedures and a promise to get the bad guys. All with the trademark “cool” that made him so different than his predecessor. Sorry, but “cool” isn’t what we need right now. We need someone who’s willing to fight.
